What happens in a one-on-one coaching session
Coaching is a partnership. We meet for regular sessions, over a period of three to six months.
I welcome you to come with specific goals in mind that you wish to tackle but are struggling to do so alone or within your current context. During our confidential and supportive sessions, I ensure that you are getting to where you want to go (even if you don't quite know where that is yet). This is done through the coaching process of powerful questioning and attentive listening - to both what is being said and what is being left unsaid. By asking skillful, open-ended and thoughtful questions, I hold space for you to dig deep and uncover your own authentic solutions to overcoming obstacles, achieving goals and creating results.
I listen to you, deeply. I challenge you, gently. I champion you, fully. I celebrate you, always.
Whether you are an individual on a personal journey of growth, discovery or getting unstuck, or a leader in your organization looking at a systems approach, I am your partner, your confidant, your sounding board, and, when needed, your devil's advocate. All answers come from you, with me by your side every step of the way.
Engaging in coaching gives you the opportunity to stop, breathe, reflect, evaluate and assess. This process expedites change, growth and clarity.

Working with Madeleine has been an incredibly valuable experience. Her unique blend of expertise, insight, and personalized approach empowered me to seek solutions within and feel confident in my own decision making. From our very first session, Madeleine took the time to truly understand my goals, challenges, and aspirations. She didn't just offer generic advice; instead, she offered personalized questions that led me to greater personal inquiry. Thanks to Madeleine, I feel more motivated and in-line with my personal values when seeking opportunities and overcoming challenges. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Madeleine for over half a year. Madeleine has advanced educational training, and she also has a diverse personal and professional background, which she brings to her role as a coach. Madeleine is an active listener. I believe that Madeleine’s perspectives are insightful and worthy of attention and consideration. As a lawyer and a successful business owner, Madeleine has not only assisted me immensely with enhancing my professional life, but she has also caused me to reflect on all aspects of my life, making me a more well rounded and happier person. It has been my honour to work with Madeleine and I look forward to engaging her services in the years to come. – Lawyer
Madeleine is a thoughtful and intuitive coach who provides a safe space for her clients to explore and discover what is most important to them. Working with Madeleine helped me to gain more clarity around certain career and personal challenges I had struggled to put words to prior to our sessions. I'm very grateful for my time working with her. - Post-Secondary Lecturer and PhD Candidate
Coaching was valuable for me in fostering a greater sense of self-awareness. More specifically, it encouraged me to examine my motivations, values, and goals at a level of thought and depth I do not get to on my own. The impact on my mindset has been transformative. - Post Graduate Student
In our first meeting, she was very warm and easy to talk with. Throughout my journey with her, I enjoyed the thought-provoking nature of her coaching, and the nonjudgmental way she actively listened to my plight. I called her my human journal, as I could explore my ingrained beliefs without judgment and work through them in an insightful and healing way. - Deputy Director - Corrections
Madeleine was exceptional in her coaching sessions with myself. She held a professional and welcoming warmth in how she presented herself which made me feel at ease and able to open up and be vulnerable and authentic in our coaching sessions. I found her intentional, thoughtful, genuine in her coaching style and conveyed interest in our sessions. She never skipped a beat. - HR Professional
My time with Madeleine has been an opportunity to self-reflect on my priorities. After each session, I walked out with insightful ideas that I processed further during the days after I met with Madeleine. I have been able to assess my strengths and align my thoughts to introduce myself better [...] Madeleine helped me develop reminders (or visuals) to keep myself on track and constantly acknowledge moments when I was very confident to use them on those occasions when I am doubting myself. Madeleine has also been great in empowering me [...] and recognize my personal needs and the value I bring to the table. - Lawyer
Coaching with Madeleine is like having that one friend you always want to go to for advice - except she doesn’t actually give you any advice! She helps you to find that advice within yourself, and supports you along the journey. - Family physician
Madeleine has an incredible ability to deeply connect in a gentle, meaningful way. I feel seen and understood as we explore limiting beliefs and craft new metaphors for how I am stepping into new ways of being. I feel inspired and empowered! - Entrepreneur and former lawyer
About Madeleine
Career Development Catalyst: I have spent over a decade working within several post-secondary environments launching high-performing students into their careers. From resume reviews, mock interviews, networking strategy and employer outreach, I've done it all and I can help you navigate the job market.Languages: I have lived, worked or studied in five different countries and I speak English, (rusty) French and (decent) Italian.Interdisciplinary Research: I have conducted graduate-level research within a professional services setting. I subsequently presented my research at several national and international conferences on the intersection of second-language abilities and entry-level employment in the legal community in Montreal.Motherhood: I became a mother just before the pandemic hit, navigating my matrescence during lockdowns. I then spent a significant portion of my second maternity leave living in Belgium in an ancient UNESCO heritage site. Why Coaching: With the end of my last parental leave looming, I sought for a way to ensure that my time spent apart from my kiddos not only provided an income, but provided me with a feeling of purpose and meaning. I had dabbled in coaching trainings, and knew that it was in this level of deep discourse and connection that I wanted to spend my time. Thus, upon returning from Belgium, I embarked on the journey to become a certified executive coach through Royal Roads University.Current Coaching Work: I have developed and integrated several one-on-one and group executive coaching programs within the context of my employment in a post-secondary institution. I take private clients on top of my full-time job because I love working with individuals who are truly motivated and engaged in the coaching process. These hours together bring me tremendous energy and fulfillment.Group Work: Inspired by the common threads I see woven amongst my one-on-one clients, I run group coaching programs to bring folks together in a community-based learning environment. Currently, I am inspired to help parents reconcile their career and parenting ambitions.Core Values: justice, community, global mindset, and lifelong learning.Pizza: As a new Italian citizen, I am comfortable in saying: the best pizza in Canada is at my house.Land: I am currently live, work and play on Treaty 7 lands (Calgary, AB). There are pieces of my heart around the world, but the biggest piece stays close to the Salish Sea, where I grew up.
